This can be done outside of the (Noon-5:00pm Monday / 9:00am-5:00pm Tues-Fri / 8:00am-Noon Saturday (Sept-May/June) Closed on Saturday during the summer but can make an appointment if we are available. - Appointments are only made for those who wish to buy a specific firearm(s), sell used firearms, militaria, and estate collections, pick up a transfer, or person to person transfer. Due to LD 2224 and LD 2238  we will try to do all be can to be more accommodating to FFL transfers and those that will be effected by the 72 hour waiting period.

LD 2224 will be in effect soon! It will be a Class C the crime of intentionally, knowingly or recklessly selling or transferring a firearm to a person who is prohibited from owning, possessing or having under that person's control a firearm. Establishes a Class C crime for a seller who is not a federally licensed firearms dealer to complete a transaction unless the seller facilitates the transaction through a federally licensed firearms dealer and the dealer performs a background check of the seller by using the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

The second is LD 2238 that will be in effewct soon! "An Act to Address Gun Violence in Maine by Requiring a Waiting Period for Certain Firearm Purchases"
LD 2238 would require a 72-hour waiting period after the purchase of a firearm.
A 72-hour waiting period between the purchase of a firearm and the transfer from a seller to a buyer.

Both will come into effect sometime in July. We do not know the exact date right now.
